It’s here, May the Month of Mary!
For centuries, the Catholic Church has set aside the entire month of May to honor Mary, the Mother of God. It is a long-standing tradition here at Visitation Academy to crown a statue of Mary during May – a custom known as the May Crowning. It’s a reminder for us to strive to imitate our Blessed Mother’s virtue in our own lives.
The 2nd and 3rd grade processed in and presented our Blessed Mother with a bouquet of flowers. The statue was crowned as each grade lead a decade of the Rosary. We closed our May Crowning with Deacon Negrin leading us in a Litany to our Blessed Mother. Let us continue to pray for our Blessed Mother’s intercession for our school, our country and our world.
For May, give Mary a special spot in your home and recite the Rosary with your family or even a decade a night.
Mary, Mother of Jesus, pray for us!
