Message from the Principal of Visitation Academy

It is so hard to believe that this school year has ended!  We praise and thank God for the gift of this school year. It has been a time filled with grace and blessings, with challenges and opportunities, joys and sorrows. Many, many prayers have been offered for our surrounding communities and friends.

We have had a busy and exciting year! Looking over the year we have: Instituted a new reading/writing program for our students, started new after school clubs, had a volleyball and track team, completed our Middle States study and revised the curriculum to add more science labs, writing rubrics, and service projects in our community. We created "Caine's Arcade" and enjoyed a middle school play. We learned and prayed together and celebrated many accomplishments!

Next year: We have new and exciting things happening! We are going to institute a new Maker Space in our school so that students will have a hands-on learning experience with technology, robotics, art, and engineering! We are looking into new Math and Science programs to strengthen our Math and Science curriculum and adding different clubs and after school opportunities for our students. We will incorporate a new Homework Club after school in addition to our After-Care program and are looking into adding additional sports teams.

The School office will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 9am – 1pm in June and July if you need to contact us. Hours will vary in August.

Registration for next year is strong!  The Early Childhood Program is almost full. Please contact the school office if you are interested in learning more about Visitation Academy and all we have to offer your children in a faith-filled, safe and Blue Ribbon environment. Please visit us on Facebook (visitationacademyparamus)!

Thank you for all that you do for our school community. God Bless and may God bless us, according to His will!

During Catholic School's Week, some of our students were asked..."What does the Blessed Mother mean to you....?" Check out this video from our students.

Pillars of Character
MIDDLE STATES RE-ACCREDITATION THEME...PILLARS OF CHARACTER. Visitation Academy promotes a Pillar of Character each month. Our prayer is that by instilling these character traits in our students Visitation Academy will create a “culture of kindness” and a positive school climate making Visitation a safe environment for students to learn.

Amazon Smile program where 0.5% of eligible purchases will go to the school.

Technology News
“I did it!” some exclaimed after successfully navigating characters on the computer screen through a maze. But if you looked a little closer, a computer science lesson was happening.

Visitation...the best school!
....As my study at Felician comes to an end, I have to say that Visitation Academy is the best school that I had ever been placed in as a student teacher. From the moment that I walked into the school, I felt I was welcomed by everyone, including the parents. This is exactly what happens in the Gospel when Mary visits her cousin, Elizabeth. From this perspective, I would say that the community of the Visitation Academy really lives up to its name.

September 7, 2012 - The United States Department of Education has recognized Visitation Academy Interparochial as a NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE. The Department of Education recognized 50 private and 219 public schools across the country for this prestigious award which is based on the schools overall academic excellence.

Visitation Academy is noted as receiving this esteemed award based on our “Exemplary High Performance” which is measured by state assessments and nationally-normed tests.
